Yes most of us know the score, we know that we should detox and when we finally do decide to detox all of a sudden there are thousands of things to do and it seems never the right time! And besides all that, how do go about detoxing? In the media you see everything from colonic irrigation to juice diets, it all seems a bit extreme, it all sounds a bit too much to even contemplate, so you have your salad for lunch and end up having your Chinese take away for your evening meal and promise yourself that you will look into the whole thing of detoxing next week, of course you never do.
But did you know that toxins can be found in our everyday environment tobacco, alcohol, food additives, drugs, anaesthetics, pesticides, heavy metals and industrial pollutants? We need our body to function optimally and rid our systems of these toxins, as they are harmful waste products, which attack our immune system and cause all sorts of health problems, like lethargy, tiredness, headaches, colds and flu, bad skin, breath and body odour problems and the list goes on... Our body is a collection of cells and tissue. Cells consist of electrical charges and should contain an even proportion of positive and negative ions. In this ideal state we are perfectly balanced and our body should function by removing toxins and absorbing the nutrients from the food that we eat , good quality water and clean oxygen. But when we experience any form of trauma which can be caused by poor diet, emotional stress, injury, ill health, working or living in an unhealthy environment the cells become more positively charged and do not work as effectively and the process of storing
toxins begins! Lack of exercise promotes, toxic build up as our cells are insufficiently oxidized.
It is becoming more apparent from many areas of research, that we need to fine ways to improve our lifestyle to become more healthy. Our ideal environment would be harmonious, stress and pollution free, we would benefit from a good natural balanced diet, free from additives or having been processed in any way. We have a long way to go!
