The Portable System comprises:
Most of the components are designed to last the lifetime of the machine, but the array does wear during use and so needs replacing periodically.
How often depends on many factors, but washing the saline solution off after use with copious quantities of water, and then drying it thoroughly helps to prolong its life.
Typically arrays last between 25 and 30 sessions (and more) if they are looked after well.

The Dr D Tox control unit uses a 30 minute timer, which divides the session into 5 stages. At each stage a light comes on. At the end of the 30 minute session a bleep will be heard and the control unit will automatically switch off.
